Brady Corporation unveils the new 2008 Annual Report designed by the Milwaukee advertising agency, Third Person, Inc.
MILWAUKEE, WI – Brady Corporation released its 2008 Annual Report design to shareholders and the general public on October 28th.
For this year's report, Brady wanted to a very simple look their Annual Report. To accommodate this design wish without reducing the allure of the overall design, Third Person recommended developing a cover design that engaged other senses.
"We suggested printing on very tactile surfaces, such as leather or specialized papers that felt like velvet," said Michael Caughill, Partner at Third Person, Inc. "Brady loved the idea."
However, due to cost, design and printing limitations, these initial ideas were rendered unfeasible.
"We had to go back to the drawing board to find a solution that allowed us to covey both the look and feel a leather cover," said Caughill. "We worked very closely with our print supplier, NML Graphics, paper houses, and the client to devise a solution that worked out great for everyone."
The solution? Third Person created a faux-leather annual report design. Then a double-hit of a special soft touch aqueous during the printing process gave the annual report a velvety-touch.
"It was quite a challenge to find a solution that met all the requirements, but we found it and everyone is happy." said Caughill.
