Infographic illustrating the strategic marketing process for both business and franchisesMarketing Ain’t Rocket Science...

Use Third Person's New InfoGraphic to Keep Your Marketing Straightforward & Effective

Blue oceans, purple cows, zebras....
Forget the marketing theory du jour.  Frankly, it’s all about the same thing anyway — namely, understanding your customer.

It doesn’t matter much whether you’re trying to build brand awareness, generate franchise leads, increase in-store traffic or improve your marketing ROI, all successful marketing efforts utilize the same fundamental elements illustrated in our marketing infographic (click on the image to enlarge).

STEP 1:  What do you want them to do?
Specifically, this is where you define your marketing goals and ensure they align with your overall business goals. As you create your marketing goals, be sure they are SMART — specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and timely.

STEP 2:  Who do you say it to?
In this step, you’ll define who you’re targeting, or who are you talking to. The more you know about these people — their demographics, psychographics, buying behaviors, etc. — the more successful and cost-effective your marketing efforts will be.

STEP 3:  What do you say?
Next, you’ll decide what to say to your audience. This can include your offer, message, competitive advantage, unique benefits and more. But, no matter you include, your message must answer the audiences’ most important question — “What’s in it for me?”

STEP 4:  How do you say it?
This step is all about framing your message to get the attention of your audience.  It must also be meaningful and memorable and to motivate the audience to act.

Once you have your answers to all four questions, you’ll then be able to determine which marketing mediums best suit your goals, audience, offer and creative execution.
